Some copies were used for promotional purposes and come with a round black and white sticker with the text; "PROMO ONLY / NOT FOR SALE" stuck over the barcode on the back sleeve. Another large white rectangular sticker is included which shows the release date and makes reference to the single "Celice", name taken from the best-selling book "The Da Vinci Code", it reads; A-HA "Analogue" Out 4th November Morten Harket, Magne Furuholmen and Paul Waaktaar-Savoy, collectively known as a-ha, are returning with Analogue, their superb eighth studio album on November 7th. Analogue is a showcase for beautifully written modern pop and opens with the brooding Celice, named after the device that crops up in the best-selling book The Da Vinci Code. The deluxe limited edition 13-track enhanced CD comes in a limited edition digi-pak. The limited edition version has a similar cover to the regular release, but it comes in a double fold-out card digi-sleeve, so there are a few minor differences in the layout. The booklet which comes with the digi-pak is the same as the one which comes with the regular edition. The reverse of the digi-pak has the track list on the left hand side with the listing for the bonus DVD on the right. The disc is the same as the disc of the regular edition and even has the same catalogue number printed on it. The DVD is of similar design to the CD, but the arty patterns are less black and more white and grey. The album was mixed by Flood with For promotional purposes, a 13 track "Press 50" CD was produced by Polydor. The disc is white with "A-Ha 'Analogue' 13 Tracks" printed in black at the top plus "Press 50",copyright protection information and polydor logo at the bottom. The disc comes with a paper insert which has the title and tracks listed down the side plus "Press 50 For Promotional Use Only - Not For Resale" and the orange Polydor logo at the bottom. Note that two of the titles are listed differently compared to the album: "Cozy Prison" (rather than "Cosy Prisons"), "Holyground" (rather than "Holy Ground"), "Treetops" (rather than "Over The Treetops") and "The Fine Blue Line" (rather than "A Fine Blue Line"). This Polydor promotional disc is very similar to the one listed above, but has track 7 listed as Windfalls, rather than Treetops. There is also a 3 track promo Polydor CD-R which features Analogue (3:49), Cozy Prison (4:08) and Celice (3:41). It comes in a vinyl sleeve with paper insert. A-HA and the tracks are listed in black on the sleeve with the red, black and white Polydor logo below. "PROMOTIONS 8" and "FOR PROMOTIONAL USE ONLY - NOT FOR RESALE" are printed at the bottom. The CD is silver with black text. There is a large a-ha-logo at the top of the disc with "Album Sampler" printed below. Copyright information is printed at the bottom of the disc. The disc comes with a paper insert with track list plus a-ha logo and title.
The regular edition of "Analogue" was also used for promotional purposes and copies exist which include promotional stickers - a round black and white sticker with the text "promo only / not for sale" and another large sticker which mentions the tour, airplay hit "Analogue (All I Want)", forthcoming single "Cosy Prisons" and the rumour that "Celice" may be included in the forthcoming Da Vinci Code movie. VariationsAustraliaThe Australian CD release comes with the usual album artworks to the European edition and includes the Desktop Player. The disc comes with the same layout and artworks as the European release and includes the same additional Australian Manufacturing and Copyright information which appears on the back cover. The album also comes with the regular inner booklet displaying the full track lyrics and artworks. The catalogue number is 9874699. There is another pressing of the Analogue Australian CD album which is similar to the first edition, but additionally comes with blue and white Ⓜ️ printed warning "Moderate sex Scene, Drug reference" notice on the front cover of the insert booklet, and "Recommended for mature audiences oflc.gov.au" on the back sleeve. The barcode on the back sleeve has also been displayed smaller and oriented, rather than landscaped which appeared on the first edition. The track listing, manufacturing and copyright information shown is however exactly the same, apart from being printed in brownish text rather than the previously white. The disc itself is exactly the same as the earlier edition with the same layout and design, but includes the additional blue square showing the white round Ⓜ️ warning symbol at the top next to the title. The Catalogue number 9874699 used is also the same. BrazilThe first Brazilian pressed CD is similar to the European release including the desktop player, it was manufactured and distributed by "Microservice" and displays the information in Portuguese on the back sleeve and actual disc; "Fabricado e Distribuido por Microservice Tecnologia Digital da Amazonia Ltda, CNPJ: 34.525.444/0001-62 sob encomenda da Universal Music Ltda. The white barcode also comes with a different number "6 02498 74699 8" compared to the European release and the catalogue number has also been changed to "60249874699". There is some additional batch issue coding AA5000 shown on the back cover suggesting that 5000 copies of the album were pressed, the coding is also etched in black around the centre ring of the disc. The album comes with the usual insert booklet displaying the usual artworks and full track lyrics, but on the centre pages, the band shot has been printed in grey, rather than brown. There is a second pressing of the Brazilian edition which was produced and distributed instead by "Sonopress", it comes with the same regular layout and design as the earlier "Microservice" pressing, but the Brazilian Record Company information printed on the back cover and disc is different; "Produzido no Polo Industrial de Manaus e distribuido por Sonopress Rimo Industria e Comercio Fonografica S.A. – Industria Brasileira – Rua Ica, nº 100-A – Distrito Industrial – Manaus – AM.CNPJ:67.562.884/0004-91, sob licenca da Universal Music International Ltda. The back cover also displays the same logos as the "Microservice" edition to include the "COMPACT disc DIGITAL AUDIO", "PRODUZIDO NO POLO INDUSTRIAL DE MANAUS Flying Amazon Bird", "Polydor" and "Universal Music", the barcode and catalogue are also the same as before. The "Sonopress" edition also come with a revised insert booklet which has been edited, so it only shows the track lyrics and doesn’t include any of the regular artwork pictures which appeared on the earlier "Microservice" edition. There are at least two issues of this "Sonopress" edition which are known to exist and are the same, but come with a different batch issue coding shown on the back cover and etched around the centre ring of the disc; AC0000500 and AD0000500. There is another Brazilian edition of the album which was re-issued by "NovoDisc" and comes with a similar front and back cover to the earlier "Microservice" and "Sonopress" releases. On the back cover and on the disc itself, the Record Company information is different and reads; "Produzido por NovoDisc Midia Digital Ltda. Av. Guarapiranga, 1671 – Sto. The back cover comes with only three of the four usual logos; "COMPACT disc Digital AUDIO", "Polydor" and "Universal Music". The "PRODUZIDO NO POLO INDUSTRIAL DE MANAUS Flying Amazon Bird" logo has this time been omitted. The barcode and catalogue numbers are the same as the previous editions and the release also comes with the regular colour lyric insert booklet. Additionally printed on the back cover and etched around the centre ring of the disc is some batch issue coding; AE0000500. CanadaThe Canadian CD release is similar to the European release, but comes with a darker printed lyric and artwork booklet, the regular layout is shown, but on the "Analogue" lyrics it doesn't have the title cut off at the top of the page unlike on the German/UK releases. On the back cover, there is some Canadian Manufacturing and Copyright Information which reads; "℗© 2005 Universal Music Domestic Division, a division of Universal Music GmbH. All rights reserved. Manufactured and distributed on behalf of Fontana North by Universal Music Canada Inc., 2450 Victoria Park Ave., Suite #1, Toronto, Ontario M2J 5H3. There is a white barcode included but it’s displayed slightly different compared to the German/UK editions, the usual "Polydor" and "Universal" logos are also shown along with an addition round grey and blue "Fontana North" record distributing company logo. The disc itself comes with the same layout and artworks as the German/UK release and includes the additional Canadian manufacturing and copyright text which is displayed on the back cover. This 13 track promo from Denmark comes in a black Universal Company card sleeve. The track list has been printed on a white sticker and stuck on the back, together with the text "PROMO USE ONLY!!!". Although the tracks are the same as on the regular album, the following differences in titles and track times are quoted: "Cozy Prison" (instead of "Cosy Prisons"), the track time for Analogue is listed as 4:34 (rather than 3:48), "Treetops" (instead of "Over The Treetops"). The disc is a Universal Music Denmark disc (similar to the cover of the album) with a white space at the bottom where the track details should be printed. France
GermanyA limited edition version of "Analogue" comes in a card slide-case. It is called "PUR Edition" and has no booklet or lyric sheet. The usual track credits which appear on the inside of the standard release booklet have been printed instead on the left hand side of the back sleeve. The catalogue number used is also different 9877405. IndonesiaThe CD release is similar to the European release. It comes with three stickers, a "HARGA Rp. 75.000, - ECERAN" round one, a yellow and orange ASPPN rectangualar one plus a small circular "Universal" hologram. The back sleeve states that it was Manufactured and printed in Indonesia.
JapanThe Japanese album comes with a white obi-strip with the red, grey and black Analogue leaves printed on it. The a-ha logo on the front and spine of the obi is coloured red with the titles in black and printed in Japanese. At the bottom of the obi spine, it includes the "Universal Music" and "Polydor" logos, along with the catalogue number UICO 1093. The reverse of the obi comes with the full track listing again shown in Japanese at the top with some further Japanese text to include the "http://www.a-ha.com/" website address and release date 23.11.05. A white barcode displaying a different number 4 988005 409904 compared to the European release is also shown at the bottom of the obi. The album itself is similar to the European release and comes from the regular front and back cover artworks and includes the Desktop Player. On the back sleeve and disc, there is some additional manufacturing and copyright information which reads; "All rights of the producer and of the owner of the work reserved. Unauthorised copying, hiring, lending, public performance and broadcasting of this recording is prohibited. 2005 Universal International, A UNIVERSAL MUSIC COMPANY. The inside of the album comes with the regular lyric booklet and includes an additional white paper lyric booklet displaying all the tracks in Japanese. Promotional copies of the album additionally come with a blue and white sticker stuck over the barcode on the back of the obi, plus have the text; "SAMPLE" etched around the centre ring of the disc. This Japanese promo 8-track album sampler comes in a jewel case. It comes with a white insert with picture of the regular sleeve in the top right. "a-ha" is printed in red in the top left with title and other information in Japanese below. The track list is printed below (Celice, Analogue, Cozy Prison, Holy Ground, Birthright, Keeper Of The Flame, Treetops, Don't Do Me Any Favours). The disc is white with a-ha in red at the top and title in black underneath. The tracks are listed on the right hand side of the disc. Both insert and disc say promo not for sale on them. The disc gives a release date of 9/11/2005 with the number UICO-1093 (catalogue number?) below. There is also a price of 2,548 Yen {tax incl.} printed on the disc. There is another Japanese pre-release promo CD which is of similar to the one listed above except that it includes the full 13 album tracks plus four videos (Celice / Celice (Thomas Schumacher Radio Edit) / Making Of Celice / Interview). The sleeve and disc give the correct release date for "Analogue&quor; as 23-11-2005, unlike the 8-track which lists it as 9-11-2005. The album comes in a slim line CD case. The disc is similar to the 8-track promo but with the absence of the track listing. MalaysiaThe Malaysian edition is very similar to the Indonesian release, but comes instead with a square hologram sticker on the front cover displaying the text; "ori" and "TULEN KPDN & HEP ORIGINAL". The top part of the front spine also has the "UNIVERSAL" logo engraved into the plastic. On the back cover there is some additional Malaysian manufacturing information; "Edaran Oleh Universal Music Sdn. Bhd. (51112-M) G.01 Grd Flr, Wisma Academy, 4A Jalan 19/1, 46300 Petaling Jaya, Selangor Darul Ehsan, Malaysia". The actual disc comes with a deeper red on the artworks compared to the UK/German release, plus the text; "Manufactured & printed in Malaysia" is additionally included at the bottom. MexicoThere is a Mexican CD release of "Analogue" coming with the usual album artworks similar to the European edition, which includes the Desktop Player. There is an additional silver rectangular sticker along the top of the front of the CD case displaying some black and white Spanish printed text; "A-HA ESTA DE REGRESO!!! De los creadores de "TAKE ON ME" La Banda que reinvento el sonido y la imagen del POP". When translated it reads; "A-HA IS BACK!!! From the creators of "TAKE ON ME" The Band that reinvented the sound and the image of the POP". A silver "ifpi" hologram sticker has also been included at the bottom left of the CD case. PolandThe European Pressing of the Deluxe cardboard CD+DVD edition of "Analogue" was used as a promo in Poland. There is a white barcode included on the back sleeve but is smaller than on the European release, the regular "Polydor" and "Universal" logos are also shown but there is an addition white "RiSA" logo included alongside. On the spine, the title "ANALOGUE" has again been printed in brown instead of the usual grey, plus the catalogue number STARCD 6975 172 has been displayed next to the title instead of being next to the "Polydor/Universal" logos. The inner artwork on the inside of the back cover comes with the regular format, but again is shown in brown instead of the usual grey colour. The disc comes with the standard layout and artworks, and includes the same copyright information which appears on the back cover, it also displays that it was "MANUFACTURED BY CDT" in South Africa and includes the three "Polydor", "Universal" & "RiSA" logos. TaiwanThailandThe Thailand made album is similar to the European release but additionally displays on the back cover and disc that it was; "Manufactured and Printed in Thailand". The white barcode is also smaller than on the European edition and shows the same number but displayed slightly differently. The "Polydor" and "UNIVERSAL MUSIC" logos are again additionally shown. The catalogue number also reads 987 469-9. The disc comes with the regular artworks but is printed in a deeper red; the usual colour booklet with the full track lyrics and artworks is also included. The promo edition has a hole punched through the barcode on the back and has "NOT FOR SALE PROMOTION ONLY" printed around the centre of the disc in white. UkraineThe Ukraine release is similar to the German made European release and has the same catalogue number. It comes with a silver hologram sticker on the back cover with "A-HA "ANALOGUE" and a coded reference number printed in black and "КОНТРОЛЬНА МАРКА & UKRAINE" in silver. The back cover is identical to the German made release but comes with some additional copyright information in Ukrainian; "Всі права захищено. Незаконне копіювання прокат публічне відтворення та передача в ефір без дозволу правовласника запису заборонені. Для продажу на території Украіни". The CD comes with a folded insert, rather than a booklet displaying the artworks taken from the centre pages of the regular release, with the large band shots in the centre (Paul and Morten on the left side / Magne on the right) without any lyrics or track listing. The disc is the same as the European release but with the copyright in Ukrainian. Some, if not all, of these releases have been cut incorrectly so miss the "A" from Analogue on the spine. There is a second pressing of the Ukrainian CD which is similar to the first but has a small map of Ukraine printed in white on the bottom right hand corner of the front cover. There is some additional Ukrainian Record Company information included on the back sleeve; "(P) 2005 Ukrainian Records under license from UMG Recordings Services, Inc. The black Universal logo is printed in the bottom right hand corner and the yellow and blue Ukrainian records logo in the bottom left. There is a promotional cassette release of "Analogue" which was released by "UKRAINIAN RECORDS" and comes in a smaller softer cassette case than the regular release. The tape is white with a red stickered label and black text. The title "A-HA ANALOGUE" is shown at the top of each side with the track listing included underneath. On the left hand side, it displays Side A/B as "Сторона A/B" with the "Ukrainian Records" logo shown on the right hand side. Along the bottom of each side, it includes the catalogue number №98746998 along with the text; ДЛЯ СЛУЖБОВОГО ВИКОРИСТАННЯ. FOR INTERNAL USE ONLY displayed on both Ukrainian and English. There is some Production text to; "℗ 2005 UKRAINIAN RECORDS", plus some other Production and Copyright text to "℗ & © 2005 UNIVERSAL MUSIC". The release also comes with a red paper folded front and back cover insert with black printed text. The title "A-HA ANALOGUE" is displayed at the top with the catalogue number included underneath.
